Help

Hello, and thanks for joining us in our Circle of Prayers! This help section will get you started so you can take full advantage of all that Circle of Prayers has to offer.

 Getting Started

Creating an Account

To get started, you’ll first need to create an account by going to this link

(Must be 13 or older to create an account)

Fill out all of the starred fields to create your account. If your church is not listed in the selection, select “Other” and fill out the information for your church and we will add it to the listing (Please allow up to 48 hours).

After you submit, check your email inbox for a confirmation (be sure to check your spam/junk folder). Once you follow the link in the activation email, you will be able to log in. If you do not receive a confirmation, please email us at support@circleofprayers.com

 Managing Your Profile

Editing Your Profile

Once you log in to your account, you will be able to make some changes and additions to your profile. You can start by adding a picture to your profile (optional) by clicking the “Change Picture” link on the sidebar. (.jpg, .gif, and .png files only)

The “Quick Links” side bar has everything you’ll need to manage your profile.

Friends and Family

In order to spread the word on prayer more effectively, you can keep a listing of Friends and Family who are both members and non-members of the site. There are 2 ways to add friends:

(a) Go to a user’s profile by finding them on the Search page and click “Add as Friend

(b) Click the My Friends/Family link on the user sidebar and click “Add Friends/Family” to manually enter an email address. If the email has been registered to the site, a link to the users profile will appear. If the email has not been registered, a link will be created to use your designated email client to open a new message to that person.

When a user is included in your Friends and Family listing, you can quickly select to have an email sent to them when you pledge prayers so that they can spread the word to their friends and family as well. As you can see, it’s easy to get the word out quickly to a lot of people that their prayers are needed!

My Circle

If a user has added you to their Friends and Family listing, they will appear in your Circle.  You can send and receive prayer requests with anyone in your Circle.  You can also choose to add them to your Friends and Family listing as well.

 Prayer Requests & Pledges

Circle of Prayers was designed to bring people together to encourage participation in prayer with their friends and family. This section will walk you through creating prayer requests, pledging prayers, and spreading the word about the power of prayer.

Prayer Requests

Prayer Requests are created by users to dedicate their prayers to a particular topic as well as ask their friends and family to pledge a prayer to the cause as well. To find a Prayer Topic you’d like to pray about, go to the Prayer Topics page. From here, you can view a listing of the newest prayer topics that others have created.  If you don’t see one that fits your needs, you can request a new Prayer Topic (Please allow up to 48 hours for approval).

Also on the prayer topics page are our “Featured Prayers” and “Most Popular Prayers”. Featured Prayer Topics are ones that are created by a Circle of Prayers staff member. Most Popular Prayer Topics are those that have been created by users.

Once you’ve found a topic you like, click on the topic to create a new Prayer Request for it. Enter the amount of prayers you wish to dedicate to the topic (Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Holy Rosary, Lord’s Prayer, Hail Mary, Mass Services).   You can also add a description so you can elaborate to others what exactly you’re praying for or if you are dedicating your own special prayers. Once you’ve submitted the request, you’ll be given the option to send the request to others on your Friends and Family or My Circle  listings. You can view your prayer requests by going to the Prayer Requests page.

Prayer Pledges

In addition to praying for your own causes, your friends and family may request that you dedicate your prayers to their cause.

The number of new requests that have been sent to you can is indicated by the number next to the “My Prayer Pledges” button on the black bar.  You can view your open pledges on the “My Prayer Pledges” page. To mark your pledges, simply click the "Add" link and enter the number of prayers that you will pledge.  When you are done with your pledge, you can mark your pledge as complete by clicking the  icon.  (You can also add prayers to a completed pledge if you choose to do so later)

Alternatively, you may visit another user's profile page, then click on a prayer request that they created that you’d like to pledge prayers to.

You can also pick other users in your Friends and Family listing to spread the word and send a Prayer Request to. If you wish to leave a few words for the requester, go to the bottom of the pledge page and click Add Comment below the box.

Sharing a Prayer Request

Often when we pray for someone, we hope others will pray for our cause as well. If you wish to share your prayer request with your Friends & Family, simply go to your Prayer Requests page and click the request you wish to share. Select users emails from the Friends and Family box that you would like to have the request sent to and then hit Submit. These users will then be sent an email with a link to your request. They then can further share the request with their Friends and Family, spreading the word even further!

 Web Memorials

Often, those special individuals who have left us may not be forgotten, but are they remembered? Honor a deceased loved one with a special Web Memorial that you can share with family and friends. This section will walk you through creating and sharing a Web Memorial.  Clicking on the Web Memorials link at the top will take you to your Web Memorials page.  Here, you will see any memorials that you have added.

You can search for web memorials by going to the Web Memorials page and clicking “View All Web Memorials”. Here, you can see a listing of the newest memorials that have been created, as well as search for a Web Memorial in the “Keyword box.

Creating a Web Memorial

To create a web memorial, go to the Web Memorials page and click the “Add Web Memorial” link at the top. Be sure to fill out all of the starred fields. When choosing a Prayer Topic for the memorial, be sure to choose something relevant to the person you are honoring (Prayer for friends, Prayer for family, and Prayers for the deceased are good examples)

In the “Biography” section, be sure to mention how this person was special to you, what type of impact they had on your life, or anything else that is meaningful. If you’re not one to express your feelings, you can put a simple obituary here.

You can also upload up to 4 photos for the memorial. On the memorial page, they will be shrunk to fit, however you can click on the pictures to view them in their original size.

Sharing a web memorial

There are several ways to share a web memorial with others. On the web memorial page, we’ve included quick links to Share on Facebook and Tweet on Twitter. You can also create a prayer pledge with the request created with the memorial to invite friends and family to the page. Additionally, others can leave comments on Web Memorials to leave their thoughts and kind words for whoever is being honored.

 Testimonials

In the testimonials section, you can view and add testimonials about how the power of prayer has affected your life or if you just wish to share some good news with the world.  It’s your chance to say what you want! To add a testimonial, go to the Testimonials page and click “Add Testimonial”. All submissions will be approved by a moderator before being displayed on the site. (Please allow up to 72 hours for approval)

 Blog

The Blog section (by WordPress) contains short pieces written by the Circle of Prayers staff.  These posts are meant to be thought provoking discussion starters about biblical passages, news stories or hot topics.  Anyone can post a comment in the comments section just by clicking the “Leave a Comment” linked under each post.  Remember that discussion is not a spectator sport.  The more people like you who join in on it, the more exciting, fresh and interesting it will be!
